The food was great, and the staff seemed friendly enough. The private shower was small but thankfully we just used the larger shared facilities. The location was great as it had easy access to ski slopes. It felt nice to relax in the onsen after a long day of skiing. The mountain view was beautiful to see even just from the room.
The room had basic amenities and it felt cramped. There was no central air conditioning or heat, just the traditional heater.

We had an incredible stay at a traditional Japanese ryokan in the heart of the city center. the location couldn't be more perfect, as we were just a short walk away from everything, including the bus terminal. the staff were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and attentive. the Japanese breakfast was delicious, and the traditional onsen was the perfect way to relax after a long day of skiing. Our room was spacious, with a beautiful view of the mountain and daily housekeeping service.
The heating in the room was a bit too hot, even on the lowest setting, so we had to turn it on and off throughout the night.

And speaking of convenience, the staff were incredibly helpful, providing us with all the information we needed on shuttle buses and the best time to catch them. The accommodations were not comfortable for a winter trip. the futons were thin and uncomfortable, and there were no couches or chairs to relax on in the room.
